BRISBANE, Australia – Oct 21, 2021 Kudos Travel Technology – a Brisbane-based technology company – has enhanced their Travel Platform to facilitate a smooth resumption of international travel for agencies and their travellers with an innovative integration of the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Timatic data.
To date, the recovery of the aviation sector has been hampered by Covid-19 restrictions enforced by governments. Travel requirements for international flights and entry to foreign countries are complicated and change frequently.
By integrating IATA’s Timatic data across their Travel Platform, Kudos can now provide customers with instant access to all the information needed to ensure travellers are ready to fly, no matter where in the world they are going, what their citizenship is or how often the rules change. Relied on by airlines and industry bodies globally, Timatic is updated daily from over 2,000 official sources, ensuring an unrivalled level of accuracy.
The Kudos Platform’s award-winning natural language application “Zeus” has also been upskilled with IATA’s data to provide quick access to real-time Visa and Document checks in addition to already providing travel alerts, traveller movements and airline Covid information.
As vaccination programs successfully roll out across the world, the industry is poised to meet the pent-up demand for international travel. According to IATA, global passenger demand is expected to recover to 61% of pre-pandemic levels in 20221.
Managing Director for Kudos Travel Technology, Phil Rasmussen, said the integration of IATA Timatic would be invaluable in providing up-to-the-minute travel advice to travellers globally.
“Over the past 18 months, international travel has changed significantly. Even the most seasoned traveller would find keeping up with the fine print and restrictions a challenge,” Mr. Rasmussen said.
“IATA’s Timatic enables Kudos to provide agencies and travellers with the latest destination-specific information, including whether the passenger is required to present a negative Covid-19 test, previous positive test result, vaccination certificate or quarantine on arrival,” he said.
“Having up-to-date information on border requirements, especially health credentials, will be important as travel resumes. We are pleased that Kudos Travel Technology has selected IATA Timatic as the provider for this data, demonstrating how reliability and accuracy of the database plays a key role for the re-start of travel,” said Frédéric Leger, IATA’s interim Senior Vice President for Commercial Products and Services.
